Dr. K. N. Lokesh is the father of cricketer KL Rahul. He is a former professor & director at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal. He also served as the Dean (Students Welfare) at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal from 3 March 2008 to 30 September 2011.
He is married to Prof. Rajeshwari Lokesh, who is a history professor at Mangalore University. They also have a daughter named KL Bhavana, who is married to Yesh Jag.
Dr. K. N. Lokesh was a college-level cricketer. He is an ardent fan of batting legend Sunil Gavaskar so when KL Rahul was born, he named him Rahul thinking it was the name of Gavaskar’s son.
