Gian Luca Passi De Preposulo is an Italian-American Fashion executive and aristocrat of the Passi de Preposulo noble family. He is the husband of american actress Jessica Chastain and works in the fashion industry as an executive for the french fashion brand Moncler. Prior to his current role, he has also served as the Director of public relations at Armani, where Roberta Armani (Giorgio Armani’s niece) was his mentor.
Gian Luca was born on 10th November 1982 to Alberto Passi De Preposulo and his wife Barbara Bruni in Montebelluna, Veneto, Italy. He also has a younger sister named Gaia Passi de Preposulo, who is married to Federico Iannello.
He studied public relations and advertising at IULM University in Milan, Italy.
His sister, Gaia Passi de Preposulo started her career as a crime reporter and later switched to lifestyle journalism. She has served as an Editor in Chief at By’s Magazine and has also written about lifestyle, fashion, design, food and beauty for Vogue Italia, AD Italia, La Repubblica and D, among others. Gaia Passi has co-founded Eccetera Studio, which provides Copywriting Service.
His mother, Barbara Bruni is originally from Bergamo, Lombardy in Italy.
Gian Luca descends from the Italian Passi de Preposulo noble family founded in 973 A.D. by Henricus De Preposulo. The family adopted the last name ‘Preposulo’ in 1307, which means peace. Passi de Preposulo family owns Villa Tiepolo Passi, an extravagant estate near Venice in the city of Treviso, Italy.
In 2010, he co-founded FIOL, his own brand of Prosecco D.O.C. with his two childhood friends, brothers Giovanni Ciani Bassetti and Pietro Ciani Bassetti. Gian Luca handles the Marketing & PR whereas Giovanni and Pietro handle the finance and corporations.
Gian Luca Passi De Preposulo met actress Jessica Chastain at a fashion show in January 2012 in Paris on the same day on which Chastain earned her first Oscar nomination for her role in The Help (2011).
The couple started dating in February 2013 and they tied the knot on 10th June 2017 in an intimate ceremony at his family’s estate ‘Villa Tiepolo Passi’ in Carbonera area of Treviso, Italy. The wedding was attended by Anne Hathaway, who arrived with her husband Adam Shulman, Jess Weixler, Edgar Ramírez, Emily Blunt & many others. After their wedding, they went to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana for their honeymoon.

The duo secretly welcomed their first child, daughter Giulietta Passi Di Preposulo on 4th April 2018 in San Francisco through surrogacy and their son, Augustus Passi Di Preposulo was born in 2020. They reside in New York City.
The couple choose to keep their relationship private and Gian Luca is rarely seen with Chastain in public. In January 2019, he made a rare red carpet appearance at the Golden Globes with his wife Jessica Chastain.
