maanvi gagroo childhood picture Facts Maanvi Gagroo is an Indian actress known for TVF Pitchers (2015-2022), TVF Tripling (2016-2022), Ujda Chaman (2019), and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020). Maanvi was born on 5th September 1985 in a Kashmiri Pandit family to Surender Gagroo and Urmil Gagroo in New Delhi. She also has an elder sister named Maansi Gagroo Jain. Her father, Surender Gagroo was a General Manager at the State Bank of India, whereas her mother, Urmil Gagroo worked as a Teacher in multiple Kendriya Vidyalayas across India & after retiring from her teacher’s job in 2015, she is working as a Freelance Author for Rachna Sagar Pvt Ltd and has authored and co-authored more than a dozen books on English language and Literature for CBSE schools. Her elder sister, Maansi Gagroo is based in Singapore and works as a Senior Regional Director HR for International business of Wipro Consumer Care. She is married to Vikas Jain and the couple has been blessed with 2 children, Menaha Gagroo Jain and Vivaan Gagroo Jain. She studied at The Mother’s International School, New Delhi and graduated in Psychology from Gargi College, New Delhi. Maanvi is a trained dancer and started dancing at a very young age and learned Kathak till she was 12 and later tried her hands at other dance forms including Western and Jazz. She began her acting career with the television show Dhoom Machaao Dhoom (2007), which was aired on Disney Channel India. The show also starred Sriti Jha, Toral Rasputra, Aanchal Bharti, Niddhi Tikoo, Aanchal Munjal, Kinshuk Mahajan, Akshay Sethi, Vikrant Massey, and Jay Bhanushali among others. ‘Dhoom Machaao Dhoom’ was one of the first Disney Channel India Original Series and ran for 100 episodes. In 2008, she played the role of Ambika Gill, a tambourine-playing Bollywood fan in the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘The Cheetah Girls: One World’. In 2009, Maanvi Gagroo appeared in the ‘Aamras: The Sweet Taste of Friendship’ co-starring Vega Tamotia, Ntasha Bhardwaj, and Aanchal Sabharwal. While the film flopped at the box office, Maanvi’s acting in the movie was appreciated and she started getting offers. Maanvi Gagroo did a supporting role in No One Killed Jessica (2011) and played the role of Anushka Sharma‘s colleague in PK (2014).

In an interview with Spotboye in 2019, Maanvi spoke about a bitter experience while auditioning for a role. She revealed that she was asked to do an attempt-to-rape scene in a sleazy office with just 2 men seated next in the room. Maanvi said,
I remember I had ran out of an audition that required me to do an attempt-to-rape scene in a sleazy office with just 2 men seated next in the room. The room, which they called as their office, also had a bed.
She was seen as the female lead opposite Sunny Singh in Ujda Chaman (2019). Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also featured Saurabh Shukla, Gagan Arora, Karishma Sharma, Aishwarya Sakhuja, Atul Kumar, and Grusha Kapoor. The film received generally mixed to positive reviews from critics and grossed around ₹12 crores at the box office. Maanvi Gagroo revealed in an interview that the makers of the ‘Ujda Chaman’ needed her to put on 15 kg for the role but she denied doing that as she was also working in Four More Shots Please! (2019-2022) and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020) at the same time so the makers gave her an alternative to use padding, so she accepted the role but paddings were extremely uncomfortable so finally, a fat-suit was made for Maanvi.

While Maanvi opted for a red embroidered saree with a matching veil, Varun wore an ivory sherwani with white pants and a pearl necklace. Maanvi Gagroo announced her engagement in January by posting a photo of herself wearing an engagement ring but did not reveal any details about her fiance. She revealed it was Kumar Varun on Valentine’s Day and shared a photo with Kumar and wrote, “Found my lobster. #HappyValentinesDay.”
