Mishaal Advani is an Indian rapper, composer and music producer known for being the younger brother of actress Kiara Advani. He was born on 19 September 1995 to Jagdeep Advani, a businessman and Genevieve Jaffrey, a teacher in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
His father is a Sindhi Hindu, while his mother was born to a Muslim father from Lucknow and a Christian mother of Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, and Spanish ancestry.
His maternal grandfather, Hameed Jaffrey was the brother of veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey. Valerie Salway was his first wife and after divorcing Valerie, he married Bharati Ganguly, the eldest daughter of the veteran actor Ashok Kumar.
He did his schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and later graduated from Brown University, United States.
While working as a software engineer, he had a brief chance encounter with American hip-hop legend A$AP Rocky in Los Angeles. This gave him the motivation to pursue music as a full-time profession.
In November 2022, he released his first music video “Know My Name” on YouTube.
He also owns an online fashion store with his own name (i.e. mishaaladvani.com).
In an interview, Talking about his musical journey, Mishaal said, “I’ve been in the studio for more nights than I’ve not, and this year marks 14 years since my first attempt at recording. I’ve really been blessed with being able to put together the right kind of music productions. It’s time for that catalogue to speak for itself now, and with God’s grace I’ll be a meaningful member to the music community of the future.”
His sister, Kiara Advani, revealed in an interview that Kiara and Mishaal used to share a room during their childhood, and the siblings used to fight all the time. Their mother would need to bribe them with an extra TV time allowance or pocket money so they would not fight.
His sister, Kiara Advani got married to actor Sidharth Malhotra on 7th February 2023 at Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh hotel. Mishaal dedicated a special song to his sister Kiara Advani, and his brother-in-law, Sidharth Malhotra, at their sangeet ceremony.
