Shalin Bhanot also known as Shaleen Bhanot is an Indian actor known for Bigg Boss 16 (2022), Naagin 4 (2019), Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh (2017), Suryaputra Karn (2015-16) and MTV Roadies 2 (2004).
Shalin Bhanot was born on 15th November 1983 in a middle class family to Brij Mohan Bhanot and his wife Sunita Bhanot in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. He has a sister, Shweta Bhanot Nagpal and a brother, Rahul Bhanot.
In 2004, he participated in the popular reality show MTV Roadies and made his acting debut in Sony TV’s Ayushmaan (2005) and later played the role of an antagonist in Zee TV’s Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar (2005-06).
Shaleen Bhanot met Dalljiet Kaur on the sets of ‘Kulvaddhu’ in 2006 and they started dating. The couple participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 4 (2008-09) and emerged as the winners. They were presented with a trophy and a cheque for ₹50 lakhs by Shah Rukh Khan.
The couple tied the knot on 9th December 2009. Their son, Shaarav Bhanot (a.k.a. Jaydon Bhanot) was born on 8th November 2013.
In 2015, Dalljiet filed for a divorce in the Bombay High Court and accused Shalin of domestic abuse and being involved in an extramarital affair. During an interview, Dalljiet said, “Shalin physically assaulted me, while my in-laws stood as mute spectators. On 30th November Shaleen caught my neck and banged my head on the wall and threw me on the furniture, and then locked me into a room for 40 minutes, until I was finally rescued by the house maid. I took the final decision to separate from my husband when he attacked me while I was holding our newborn son.”
In 2015, he became a singer with ‘Dooba Hooa Hain.. Kamasutra’ song which was composed by Taz – Stereo Nation & JSL.
He portrayed the role of Duryodhan in Hindu mythological TV show Suryaputra Karn (2015-16) and played the role of Ravan in Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush (2019-20).
In 2017, he played the role of Maha Singh Sukerchakia, father of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in ‘Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh’.
In October 2019, he was featured with Priyanka Agrawal in the music video of ‘Tujhe Paane Ko’ song which was sung by Jubin Nautiyal & Neeti Mohan.
He is a dog lover and has a pet dog named Swag.
He made his web debut with Gemplex’s show, The Red Land (2019) as Babloo Singh.
In 2020, he appeared as a guest contestant for an episode in season 10 of the stunt-based reality TV show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 16, Shalin who was previously married to television actress Dalljiet Kaur expressed his feelings for Tina Datta and when Tina questioned him about being abusive in his marriage, he denied all the allegations and claimed that his relationship with his ex-wife, Dalljiet Kaur is like best friends.
However, Tina and Shalin’s conversation did not go down well with Dalljiet. She took to her twitter account to slam the actor for dragging her name and clarified that they are not best of friends. They just meet once in a month or two months for the sake of their son, Jayden Bhanot.
