In 2015, she made her acting debut as a child actor in the television show ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap’ as young Chand Kanwar (Maharana Pratap’s step-sister) but rose to fame after playing the role of Rajkumari Ahankara in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (2015). On 24 December 2022, Tunisha Sharma committed suicide by hanging herself in Sheezan’s make-up room on the set of her show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’. She was just 20 years old and would have turned 21 on January 4.

Her mother, Vanita Sharma accused that her co-star and ex-boyfriend Sheezan Mohammed Khan used the actress for three to four months and even denied marrying her. She also alleged that Sheezan used to beat Tunisha and was forcing her to adopt Islamic practices. Sheezan was booked under IPC Section 306 for abetment to suicide and was taken into custody by the police. Police ruled out ‘Love Jihad’ angle in this case.
